Trekking to the far end of the world - Torres del Paine National Park, Chile

Hidden away from the rest of the world, Torres del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia, Chile is a beautiful gem that completely blew my mind during our 5 day trek last week. I still dream about it every night and can't wait to go back.

What is it about lighthouses?

I love lighthouses. And I know I'm not the only one. The attraction lighthouses has on me is equivalent to what lots of people feel when they see a brand new Aston Martin in the street or probably how a horse enthusiast feels when a proud Arabic horse is running across the fields in the sunset. There's something magic about them.

What I learned about Nutella from Slovenian whitewater paddlers

skapad 2014-09-13 i 'Green Adventures Blog'

Think about it. What is it with a place that makes you want to return and experience it all over again? My neighbor has been to the Canary Islands 42 times in his life. 42!!! Some of you (probably a majority) would think that it's a bit wacko and a lack of innovation. Why would you want to go back to the same place for that many years? Well, what is it with a place that gives you that feeling of being happy, safe, excited, curious and feeling welcomed so much that you want to experience it over and over again?

This is my second visit to Slovenia, this land I honestly didn't know much about when I got here in the first place in June earlier this summer. But boy, what a punch in the face it was for me. The landscape that surrounds the Soca Valley is nothing but a true beauty. A real gem that is just "here" and is not letting anyone affect her in turning into something old and ugly. The Soca Valley will stay young and lovely forever.

Waking up every morning with a stunning view from my window in my room at the Prijon Sport Center is definitely something I will miss when I'm back in Sweden. But most of all, I will miss the people I have gotten to know here this week. I came down to Soca on my own this time and the welcome I've had from Igor and his awesome team at the Prijon Sport Center has been absolutely fantastic. They think of themselves as having a second family and all I'm saying guys, is that if you're ever interested in adopting a Swedish sister, I will be standing on the door step faster than you can blink.

The 5 days I've spent on the river has given me some new energy for paddling. I'm learning to relax more in the waves and to enjoy the fast flowing water more than ever and I can't even try to count how many laughs I've had with Jan, my instructor for the week. The main focus has been all about enjoying and having fun in the boat.

So will I come back? YES! Definitely. Will I come back 40 more times? Well, imagine how good of a paddler I will be when I'm here for the 42:nd time! But I'm sure the guys down here would be more than tired of me by then...

And about the Nutella? Well, that is a completely different story I'll share with you another time.

If you click the pictures, they will be presented in a light box.

And the film at the bottom of the page has been shot and edited by the crew at the center. Thanks for letting me use it.
