Trekking to the far end of the world - Torres del Paine National Park, Chile

Hidden away from the rest of the world, Torres del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia, Chile is a beautiful gem that completely blew my mind during our 5 day trek last week. I still dream about it every night and can't wait to go back.

What is it about lighthouses?

I love lighthouses. And I know I'm not the only one. The attraction lighthouses has on me is equivalent to what lots of people feel when they see a brand new Aston Martin in the street or probably how a horse enthusiast feels when a proud Arabic horse is running across the fields in the sunset. There's something magic about them.

Moving on from Arrow Kayaks.

skapad 2014-08-16 i 'Green Adventures Blog'

For many years, Arrow Kayaks and the man and the team behind those fantastic Danish kayaks, Nicolai Ilcus have been great in supporting me with a kayak, the super comfortable, fun, long time friend Lady Nuka. I've paddled a few different Nuka's over the years both in fibre glass and in carbon and I must say that I've enjoyed every minute in all of them.

I first made contact with Nicolai and the Arrow Kayaks one grey, rainy autumn afternoon in Helsingborg a few years ago at a dealers meet with Aterra. I immediatley fell in love with the slick design, the maneuverability, the smart details and the over all performance. At that time it was mostly the Greenlandic style boat, Ivalu - designed by Martin Nielsen, that caught my eye.

So I hooked up with Arrow and got to know the crew behind the kayaks and it's been great getting to know the people who had such a great interest in devoting all their time to design kayaks, especially Nicolai Ilcus.

Nicolai has been a rockstar in supporting me over the years. Especially when Nick Cunliffe and I were paddling around Denmark and we got most of our equipment stolen just south of Copenhagen. And also when providing me with a new boat when I've asked for it. So a BIG thanks goes out to you Nicolai. And to the rest of the team as well.

Since last autumn, Arrow Kayaks is now owned my Tahe Marine and I hope they will keep developing the Arrow brand in the way it deserves to be developed. I wish them all the luck in the world to continue expanding the Arrow range.

Below are some pictures from varioius trips where I've been paddling a Nuka.
(And one picture of the beautiful Ivalu.)

If you click the images, they will be presented in a light box.
