Trekking to the far end of the world - Torres del Paine National Park, Chile

Hidden away from the rest of the world, Torres del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia, Chile is a beautiful gem that completely blew my mind during our 5 day trek last week. I still dream about it every night and can't wait to go back.

What is it about lighthouses?

I love lighthouses. And I know I'm not the only one. The attraction lighthouses has on me is equivalent to what lots of people feel when they see a brand new Aston Martin in the street or probably how a horse enthusiast feels when a proud Arabic horse is running across the fields in the sunset. There's something magic about them.

West Coast Water - new paddling festival in Sweden

skapad 2013-05-30 i 'Green Adventures Blog'

So it was time for something new to happen on the Swedish west coast. Organized by the publishing company Go Outside Media with the outdoor magazine Outside, Glenn Mattsing was the festival general and together with his crew, and with some help from me too, this was the weekend when the paddling festival West Coast Water saw the light for the first time.

Tanumstrand was the place to be and during three days the participants were offered a smorgasbord of activites on and off the water. There was a big variety of paddling sessions to choose from. Everything from Greenland rolling to speed paddling and fishing from a kayak during the days and in the evening there was a dinner of course acompanied with some keynote presentations and films being showed.

There were lots of competent coaches around for the weekend. Just to mention a few I can say that James Stevenson from Wales showed the people how to maneuver a kayak, Carin Green from Horisont Kajak, Sweden, offered her expertise in incident management, Mark and Helen from the UK/US offered rolling sessions, Adam Hansen from Greenland added a Greenlandic touch to his paddling sessions, Anders Gustafsson took out his fast paddling skills and shared his knowledge about how to paddle faster, Renata Chlumska showed up to attend a guided trip (with me and Carin as local (?) guides), Eva-Lotta Backman from Finland doing lots of fun balancing tricks and then there were lots of more things going on throughout the weekend. To read more about the program during the festival, please visit the website for the festival here.

I never really took the time to take a lot of pictures during the festival, so below you have a few links to other people's websites and blogs where you can go to see loads of pictures and read stories from the happening.
