Trekking to the far end of the world - Torres del Paine National Park, Chile

Hidden away from the rest of the world, Torres del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia, Chile is a beautiful gem that completely blew my mind during our 5 day trek last week. I still dream about it every night and can't wait to go back.

What is it about lighthouses?

I love lighthouses. And I know I'm not the only one. The attraction lighthouses has on me is equivalent to what lots of people feel when they see a brand new Aston Martin in the street or probably how a horse enthusiast feels when a proud Arabic horse is running across the fields in the sunset. There's something magic about them.

Moving on

skapad 2011-09-12 i 'Green Adventures Blog'

A week has now passed since we had to go to the police station in Denmark and report the theft of our gear. It´s been a difficult week with lots of things to deal with. Lots of reflection and lots of thoughts about what happened have filled our heads. But we can´t turn back time, we can only learn from our experiences and let other paddlers know what happend, so that they never get to have the same experience that we´ve had.

I really would like to thank everyone that have sent us emails, comments and taken the time to call us to support us and cheer us up. Friends, family and strangers have been so kind to us and I sometime find that quite overwhelming...

Nick is now actually back in Denmark, on Römö, on the west coast to coach a gang of paddlers on a BCU 4* Training course. The weather forecast says lots of strong winds. Some rain is also expected. What a surprice! ;-)

I´m back in Sweden at the moment but all I wish for now, is November to arrive as fast as it can. I really want to go back and finish the trip and the sooner that can happen, the better. But until then we are both going to be very busy. Nick is working in Wales, Sweden and Canada for the next few weeks and I´m going to divide my time between Sweden and Wales, paddling and coaching. I´m going to attend a BCU Level 2 Coach training course, do some paddling in Bohuslän on the west coast of Sweden and most of all, I´m going to have 5 wonderful days in Wales with a "girl gang". Carin, Pia and Eva-Lotta are all going over to Wales at the same time and I know we are going to have a great time on the water together. And of course there will be blog posts about this. :-)

The picture below is taken with my mobile phone, so sorry for the bad quality...

The gear we have left is now washed and hung up to dry. It´s soon November...
