Trekking to the far end of the world - Torres del Paine National Park, Chile

Hidden away from the rest of the world, Torres del Paine National Park in Southern Patagonia, Chile is a beautiful gem that completely blew my mind during our 5 day trek last week. I still dream about it every night and can't wait to go back.

What is it about lighthouses?

I love lighthouses. And I know I'm not the only one. The attraction lighthouses has on me is equivalent to what lots of people feel when they see a brand new Aston Martin in the street or probably how a horse enthusiast feels when a proud Arabic horse is running across the fields in the sunset. There's something magic about them.

Midsummer in the Stockholm Archipelago.

skapad 2011-06-27 i 'Green Adventures Blog'

The Stockholm archipelago consists of about 30.000 islands and is a haven for kayak paddlers. You can spend a lifetime paddling in this area and never get bored. Last weekend was the Midsummer weekend and I went up to Stockholm to spend three days on the water with some good friends. We were all prepared for rain and low temperatures, but instead we got sunshine and hardly no winds at all.

Starting from Norråva on the island of Värmdö with Carin and Lars, we slowly paddled our way in a north easterly direction towards the islands called Hallonstenarna. Arriving there, Agda and Micke had already had their first cup of coffee and after setting up camp, we had a Midsummer BBQ that lasted untill we got really tired and our eyes needed a rest.

The two following days we were blessed with the same kind of sunny weather and it felt a bit surreal to be honest, paddling in these conditions during Midsummer weekend. Towards the mainland we could see the rain, but it only hit us for a few minutes on the last day. And after having eating an ice cream on the island of Lådna, the weekend was fulfilled.
