Around Gotland - Part 4

I just can't believe the luck I've had on this trip. Even if I've had some frost, rain, head winds and bad visibility, most of the time it's been one of the best paddle trips I've ever done. Gotland I love you!

Around Gotland - Part 3

May on Gotland is equal to low season. And since there is only 57000 people living on the island, a lot of the coast line is really deserted this time of year. A strange but exciting feeling I think.

I had decided to go anti clockwise around the island. Then I knew I would at least get two days with tailwinds from the start. Unless the weather gods decided to play tricks on me.

Around Gotland - Part 1

Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic Sea, is a real exotic gem. I've never been there before but now was the time to go. So why not bring the kayak and go for a paddle? Why not go around the island?

Time for a circumnavigation

April is soon over. And to greet the month of May I thought I could go for a paddle around Swedens largest island, Gotland. I dare to say that it's one of the most exotic places in our country with a unique coastline that is full of standing rocks and with beaches that are as long as eternity it self.

A stormy good bye to Denmark

Well, we gave it a try but with circumstances that were laying out of our control, we realised a few days ago that we wouldn't be able to complete the trip as we had planned. Annoying and frustrating but nothing we could do about it.

Back in Sweden and it´s as windy and rainy as in Denmark. Still it feels quite sad to be back here, earlier than expected. But hey, Denmark is still there and we are soon going back to finish the trip.

Around Denmark 2011

Why not go for a paddle I thought. Why not be away for a few weeks. Why not paddle along a coastline I´ve never seen before. Why not paddle around Denmark this summer. You can always find reasons not to do things in life, but why not concentrate on the things you really want to do instead.
